Located in Gallatin, a suburb of Nashville, TN, NorthField Church is a friendly and inclusive church campus with a strong desire to impact their surrounding community in a positive, embracing manner.  NorthField believes in God’s power to change lives and encourages its members to passionately live out their purpose. NorthField knows the power of community and loves to see God move in everyday circumstances. 


The NorthField Student Pastor provides leadership and guidance for students in 6th-12th grade. This pastor connects teenagers to the mission of NorthField Church while creating dynamic and developmentally appropriate weekly student programming that aids in spiritual growth. The Student Pastor oversees volunteers who are passionate about seeing teenagers flourish. This leader communicates with parents, ministry leaders,  and church leadership regarding the current cultural landscape that teenagers are navigating. This pastor works with other ministry leaders to transition and celebrate major milestones in the lives of students. 



- Develop, oversee, and execute an ongoing program that includes:

  • A developmentally appropriate environment for middle and high school students on Sunday mornings that promotes community and discipleship with small groups led by volunteers.
  • A weekly environment for middle and high school students on Wednesday nights with opportunities for fun and relationships featuring worship, teaching and small groups led by volunteers. 
  • Encouragement and facilitation for high school students to participate in Sunday morning worship services and/or to serve within core ministries. 

- Plan and lead 4 yearly camps, retreats, or mission experiences that foster spiritual growth and development for middle and high school students. 

- Develop a curriculum plan that:

  • Is consistent with the NorthField mission to love God, love people, and make Jesus known
  • Is developmentally appropriate
  • Teaches foundations of the Christian faith and Biblical principles in ways that are engaging
  • Equips students for thoughtful engagement with Biblical and cultural topics. 

- Plan for and execute transitions for incoming 6th graders and outgoing 12th graders

Recruitment, Training, and Development of Volunteers

- Recruit and retain a healthy volunteer leadership team that is passionate about students and leading students intentionally throughout the week.

- Provide a monthly platform for training, equipping, relationship building, and hearing from leaders. 


- Create and maintain policies that ensure student, volunteer, and parent safety. 

- Create and execute a budget that is approved by church leadership.


Education & Experience

- The ideal candidate would possess a Bachelor's Degree prudent to serving in student ministry; special consideration will be given to those not meeting the degree requirements who have extensive(5-10+ years) job-related experience.

- Candidate must have at least 4 years ministry experience in a Student Ministry of 100+, and must have previous experience leading an adult volunteer team.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Self-starter with strong organizational skills.

- High capacity for relationship building.

- Proven ability to lead and develop volunteers.
